Truffle Gift Box

Purdy is a Vancouver based chocolatier famed for their hedgehogs, pink salted caramels, ice cream bars and ice wine truffles.

It was a day before Christmas Eve and Purdy's had their assortment of gifts on display. However I'm pretty sure they have this set on display all year around. I know people usually buy gift sets for their intended purpose, as gifts, but I always buy them for myself hehehe. Am I the only one? haha

Left to Right: 

Classic Dark - 3/5 stars
This was as the name implied: a classic, deep, rich, dark chocolate. The vodka is very faint.

Grand Marnier - 4/5 stars
This tasted very similar to the Orange Meltie Bar (below), but not as sweet. One of my favourites.

White Cameo - 4/5 stars
I love white chocolate. This one had a hint of brandy.

Kahlua- 2.5/5 stars
The coffee flavour was very subtle.

Sambuca Shores - 2/5 stars
I didn't like this one very much. I was expecting expresso, but it tasted like regular dark chocolate.

Ice Wine - 2/5 stars
The sugar layer on top lent a very nice texture to the exterior surface. The ice wine was augmented by the dark chocolate, and complimented each other nicely.

Irish Cream - 2/5 stars
Tasted like milk chocolate with a hint of Bailey's.

Strawberry Rose - 4/5 stars

The centre was filled with strawberry cream. Definitely the sweetest chocolate in the box.

Orange Meltie Bar

4.5/5 stars

I love oranges, especially in chocolate! Granted, it is artificial citrus flavouring, but the orange flavour tasted like the real thing! I was expecting it to taste artificial, but it didn't.

Pros:
-Conveniently located in Metrotown, near Superstore
-Makes a great gift
-Delicious!

Cons:
-Pricey
